Forensic Genetics

Forensic Genetics

The basis of human identification is the examination of genetic material (DNA) from biological samples. Within the scope of civil and criminal law, all types of biological material are analyzed in our laboratory which is equipped with advanced technology. Services are provided to law enforcement, defense, and judicial authorities as well as to private applications for personal use.

For court use tests a chain of custody and supporting documents are required. The samples are taken in-laboratory, following an appointment. Government issued IDs for each individual are required and the identity is confirmed by the sampler. A photo is taken by the personnel for the record. According to Turkish legislation the mother-child and alleged father trio should be tested based on their consent.
